Thomas DeVoss writes about architecture and design for the East-West News Service. A licensed architect (AIA TBAE NCARB LEED), DeVoss’ projects include an off-grid orphanage complex in Haiti, sustainable master plans in Australia and houses throughout Los Angeles. Previously, he worked as a designer and team leader at Gehry Partners on the Barclays Arena for the Brooklyn Nets, the Guggenheim Museum in Abu Dhabi, and the Altantis Sentosa Resort proposal in Singapore.

DeVoss received his Masters of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis in 2006. He earned his Bachelor in Classics from Georgetown University in 2002 and studied abroad at Cornell’s architecture school in Rome. As a member of the Art Director’s Guild, he also provides illustration services including set sketches, 3d models, set design, and renders to the commercial entertainment industry.
