Nik Wheeler started his photographic career as a combat photographer in the Vietnam War which he covered for 3  years with UPI.  In the 1970s he freelanced out of Beirut covering events in the Middle East.  in Paris for 3 years he took his most famous photo of international terrorist Carlos the Jackal.  During his career he has visited more than 100 countries and has done assignments for most major international magazines, including Time, Newsweek, National Geographic, Gourmet, Islands, Travel and Leisure and  published more than 20 photo and guide books. Since 1977 he has lived in Southern California where he shoots stock and travel subjects.
